It was a nationwide revival event.
On Pentecost Sunday, over 28,000 people across the United States participated in baptisms as part of a large-scale revival organized in partnership with Baptize America. More than 600 churches held over 1,000 events where individuals publicly declared their faith in Jesus and were baptized, marking a significant spiritual movement across the nation.
The event was inspired by Pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church in California, who felt a divine calling to hold this nationwide baptism on Pentecost, the day traditionally recognized as the birth of the Christian church. His vision was to start in California and expand across the country and beyond, encouraging believers to openly express their faith.
This revival gained strong support from some of the largest churches in America, helping to create a broad impact and critical mass. The event also extended internationally, with thousands baptized in Canada and smaller groups participating in Paraguay and Sweden.
Church leaders involved expressed excitement about the spiritual hunger they are witnessing, especially among younger generations. They emphasized that this movement represents hope and renewal, with many seeing it as a sign of God’s active work in the world during challenging times.
Previously, Francey had organized a similar event in California that saw thousands of baptisms, including many spontaneous decisions to follow Jesus. The Pentecost event built on that momentum and highlighted a growing desire among Christians to unite and boldly share their faith publicly.
