Child Actor Drops Truth Bombs About Hollywood’s Corruption
Kirk Cameron, known for his role in the ’80s sitcom “Growing Pains,” recently shed light on disturbing experiences from his past involving Brian Peck, his former dialogue coach and a convicted sex offender, who is a central figure in the documentary series “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”
In an interview with The Daily Wire, Cameron, now 53 and a devout Christian, recounted his time as a child actor in Hollywood, where he observed concerning behavior among industry professionals. He specifically recalled instances involving Peck, who was later convicted of “lewd acts” with a minor, revealed to be Nickelodeon star Drake Bell. Cameron expressed shock and disgust at the revelations, noting suspicions dating back to his time on “Growing Pains.”
The documentary delves into allegations of abuse and a toxic work environment within Nickelodeon. Cameron pointed out instances, including footage from “Growing Pains,” showing Peck’s inappropriate interactions with young actors like Leonardo DiCaprio.
Reflecting on his time on the show from 1985 to 1992, Cameron also mentioned the arrest and conviction of Steven Marshall, the executive producer and showrunner, for possession and distribution of child pornography in 2010.
In the wake of the documentary’s release, Bell revealed himself as the victim in a sexual abuse case involving Peck from 2004, resulting in Peck’s sentencing to 16 months in prison after pleading no contest to the charges.
Cameron expressed gratitude to his parents for protecting him in what he described as a “predatory environment,” crediting his mother’s presence on set during his minor years. He emphasized the need to expose and remove individuals perpetuating such misconduct in the industry, emphasizing the role of brave individuals in safeguarding children’s entertainment and education.
He believes the documentary marks just the beginning of unveiling the darker aspects of Hollywood and advocates for the reinstatement of moral values in the entertainment industry, asserting that the absence of God leads to corruption. Cameron remains hopeful for a cultural shift towards accountability and protection of vulnerable individuals in the entertainment sphere.
First of all; it’s not a Tale. It took place; recorded in the most accurate book in print.
This sounds like some of the stuff another child actor was talking about now a few years, stories that I, for one, took to be true, stories of numerous Hollywood pedophiles and their deeply disturbing antics, confirmed by another well-known child star, as I recall. The second young actor reiterated what Kirk Cameron says about his own mother – that IF it were not for their mother’s protection, he, too might have been a victim. So – why, oh, WHY these so-called “people” have not been indicted! Perhaps only because they were equally guilty if only because they protect the perps; those who knew what was going on and did nothing, or worse – by protecting them are scum. ALL of those who did these things as well as those who protected them are equally guilty. They are ALL horrible criminals. Despicable. If I did not love movies so very much, would never see another as that system is deeply amoral, corrupt.
