Concert Set To Deliver Unforgettable Experience
The power of human creativity and imagination can lead to remarkable outcomes. Often, a simple idea can evolve into a dynamic and impactful project through the creative process.
A notable example of this phenomenon is “The Chosen,” a streaming series that has captivated audiences worldwide. As it gears up for its fifth season, it’s important to remember that this global hit originated from a modest vision for a Christmas video created by a small church in the Midwest. Since then, it has attracted nearly 800 million viewers who have tuned in to watch at least one episode.
Similarly, Peter and Jennifer Emerson are pursuing their own creative venture, sparked by an unforgettable experience. After attending a Christmas concert by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with their daughter several years ago, they were inspired by the vibrant music and impressive visual effects. Peter, a former member of the U.S. Navy Orchestra with a history of performing for four sitting U.S. presidents, found himself reflecting on the performance. “I thought, that’s something I could do. By the end of the show, I was wondering why I wasn’t already doing this,” he shared.
While the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is known for its extravagant performances, Peter felt that it missed a crucial aspect of the Christmas narrative: the presence of Jesus. This realization led to the idea of crafting an immersive live concert that would tell the complete Nativity story through music, narration, and stunning visuals. “What struck me about their performance was its focus on the spirit of Christmas rather than the true essence of Christ,” he explained. “I decided to channel my skills into a show that fully represents the Nativity.”
Now, that inspiration is set to come to life. The concert, titled “He Rules the World,” will debut from December 11 to 14 at the Hippodrome Theater in Waco, Texas. It aims to create a family-friendly experience that delves into the Nativity characters and the fulfillment of God’s plan. Peter emphasized his childhood love for church traditions and hymns, noting that each hymn tells only part of the story, much like a stained glass window. “He Rules the World” will weave these fragments together, using familiar Christmas carol melodies as a foundation to explore the emotions of the Nativity participants. The production will feature narration by actor Kevin Sorbo and vocals by David Gaschen, known for his role in “The Phantom of the Opera.”
