They are expanding their tech reach.
A Colorado-based Christian tech company has acquired an AI chatbot formerly known as Bible Chat, with plans to further develop it into a customized assistant for churches and ministries. The chatbot, now called Faith Assistant, is designed to help churches, publishers, and similar organizations by offering round-the-clock conversation capabilities tailored to their specific needs. The tool provides features such as connecting users to staff or volunteers and offering personalized resources.
Gloo, the acquiring company, highlighted the value of Faith Assistant in allowing ministries to control the content the AI learns from and how it is used. Co-founders of Faith Assistant, Chase Cappo and Andrew Rogers, emphasized their commitment to using technology to further the Church’s mission. As part of Gloo, they will continue their involvement, with Cappo leading Gloo’s AI Enterprise Division. The chatbot is already in use by organizations such as the Luis Palau Association and KCBI Radio, which have noted its effectiveness in providing constant support and engaging audiences.
Gloo plans to introduce a free version of Faith Assistant, supported by its Kingdom-Aligned Large Language Model (KALLM), allowing church leaders to train the AI with their own content. Advanced features will be available under a paid membership, while larger organizations can access fully customized models. Gloo, which supports over 90,000 churches and numerous resource partners, aims to connect ministry leaders with resources, data, and funding to help them achieve their missions.
The company has received significant financial backing, including a $110 million investment from faith-aligned organizations in 2024. Gloo’s leadership emphasized the importance of responsible technology use within the Church, ensuring that tools like AI enhance relationships rather than replace them. With a focus on using technology to serve the faith community, Gloo continues to explore how innovations like AI can positively impact Christian ministries.
