Mom Praises God For Miraculous Survival Of Daughter

A tragic incident in Brevard, North Carolina, claimed the lives of two young brothers, Josiah and Joshua Leviskia, when a tree fell on their home during a severe storm. Their mother, Sharon Leviskia, expressed her grief, asking for prayers and giving thanks that her daughter survived. The storm was part of a larger system that swept through the Midwest, South, and Northeast, leaving at least 42 people dead across multiple states.

According to Connestee Fire Chief Chase Owens, the family was asleep when high winds caused a large oak tree to crash into their mobile home, trapping the boys inside. Despite rescue workers’ efforts, the tree took several hours to stabilize, and by the time the boys were reached, they had already succumbed to their injuries. The boys’ father, Nathaniel Leviskia, mentioned that he had just returned home moments before the tree struck.

The local community, including Anchor Baptist Church’s Brian Coates, has been providing support to the grieving family. Coates highlighted the resilience needed to deal with such storms in the area, especially as this incident follows the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene just a few months earlier. Coates and others are helping the family as they cope with the sudden loss and destruction.

At Brevard Middle School, where the boys were students, band director Topher Kane remembered them fondly, describing them as “amazing students” who both played the flute. Kane expressed deep sorrow and shared a heartfelt message urging people to cherish their loved ones.

To help the family, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched, aiming to raise $250,000 to cover funeral expenses and rebuild their home. The community has already contributed significantly, surpassing half of the target, demonstrating strong support for the family in their time of need.
