Evil spiritual forces are in play.

On Monday, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson addressed the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, framing it as evidence of malevolent spiritual forces at work in the United States. Speaking at a Heritage Foundation event during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Carlson suggested that Christians are the primary adversaries to these destructive forces, which he believes have manifested in various forms throughout history.

Carlson reiterated themes from his April 2023 speech at The Heritage Foundation, highlighting that the current political climate’s irrational and violent nature suggests a deeper, non-political conflict. He argued that recent events, including the assassination attempt, reveal a spiritual battle rather than mere political discord. According to Carlson, these forces seek chaos and destruction and have become increasingly overt in their hostility toward Christianity.

In his remarks, Carlson criticized the Republican Party’s “dark” warmongering attitude, claiming that many influential GOP members oppose Trump because he disrupts their war-driven agenda. He suggested that these opponents are motivated by a desire for godlike power and the ability to perpetuate conflict, rather than addressing issues like immigration or the economy.

Carlson praised Trump for his defiance and bravery following the assassination attempt, asserting that Trump’s response demonstrated his resilience and effectively ensured his political success. He expressed confidence that Trump’s vice presidential candidate, Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, would help secure the ticket’s victory, underscoring Trump’s ability to overcome significant challenges and inspire his supporters.
