The congregation is heartbroken.

A tragic accident in El Paso has claimed the life of Pastor Jason Owens, a beloved member of The Rock Faith Center. The 49-year-old pastor was involved in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday evening when a sedan failed to yield at a stop sign and struck his Harley-Davidson at the intersection of Krag Street and Santiesteban Lane. He was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred in the Montana Vista area, on the eastern edge of El Paso. Authorities have not yet released the name of the driver involved in the collision, and the incident remains under investigation. No additional injuries were reported, and it is still unclear whether any charges will be brought forward.

Church members were devastated by the news, learning of the accident through a series of phone calls and social media posts. Senior Pastor C. Eric Hallback said that a church leader had noticed images of the damaged motorcycle online and feared the worst. Confirmation of Owens’ passing came later from hospital officials and the medical examiner’s office.

The Rock Faith Center issued a heartfelt statement, describing Pastor Owens as a devoted spiritual leader, trusted friend, and integral part of the church community. He was admired for his faith, compassion, and dedication to mentoring youth, particularly through his work with Child Protective Services. Known for his love of motorcycles and his loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles, Owens was remembered as someone who brought encouragement and laughter wherever he went.

Quoting Bible verses such as 2 Timothy 4:7 and John 14:27, the church expressed both sorrow and hope, asking the community to pray for Owens’ family and loved ones. They emphasized the profound impact he had on the lives he touched and the enduring legacy of his service and faith.
