Beloved Pastor And Wife Gone Too Soon

The Kirk Baptist Church community of Piperton, Tennessee, is deeply grieving the sudden loss of Senior Pastor Bobby Mullins and his wife, Wanda. The couple tragically died in a car accident on Tuesday while returning from Wanda’s shift at Baptist DeSoto Hospital, where she worked as an ICU waiting room receptionist. Their vehicle was struck and rolled over several times; Pastor Mullins passed away at the scene, and Wanda succumbed to her injuries the following day.

The church has shared the heartbreaking news on social media, asking for prayers for the Mullins family during this difficult time. A visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home (Poplar) on Wednesday, followed by a funeral service at Ridgeway Baptist Church on Thursday at 11. They will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pastor Mullins had devoted over four decades to ministry across various churches. Recently, he had delivered a poignant sermon titled “Living Like You’re Dying,” which resonated widely. In this sermon, he urged listeners to reflect on how they would live more meaningfully if their time were limited.

Wanda, who was also known for her musical contributions to the church, and Pastor Mullins leave behind three children and four grandchildren. Their son, Brandon, conveyed the family’s profound sorrow but found solace in the knowledge that their father exemplified his faith throughout his life.

The details of the accident are still under investigation by local authorities. The couple’s legacy of spiritual leadership and community service is being honored with deep respect and affection.
