Evangelical Leader Claims President’s Journey Is Directly Guided By God

While speaking at a prominent Evangelical political gathering, televangelist and presidential spiritual advisor Paula White-Cain called former President Donald Trump’s survival of a 2024 assassination attempt a clear act of divine intervention. Addressing the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s 2025 Road to Majority Conference in Washington, D.C., White said the incident was not a mere series of fortunate events but a “sovereign divine miracle.”

White, who co-founded Without Walls International Church and has long been a leading figure in the Charismatic movement, was joined by Jennifer Korn of the White House Faith Office during her address. She reflected on the attempt on Trump’s life, which occurred at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, just weeks after her speech at the same conference in 2024. White noted that she had previously warned Trump about the personal cost of pursuing the presidency—what she now sees as being fulfilled through that near-fatal event.

Describing the moment she learned of the shooting via text message, White expressed deep personal distress, emphasizing her close friendship with Trump. She pointed to several unusual details of that day—such as the campaign rally starting late and the positioning of a chart used in his speeches—as examples of what some called “coincidences” that helped save his life. However, White dismissed that explanation, asserting instead that divine protection was at work.

The belief that Trump was shielded by a higher power has been echoed by others. During the 2024 Republican National Convention, Trump himself credited God for his survival, saying he felt protected and attributing his presence at the event to God’s grace. Former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson similarly stated during the convention that he believed a “shield of protection” had been placed over Trump by God.

Together, these testimonies reflect a widely shared conviction among Trump’s Evangelical supporters that his continued political presence is not only significant but also divinely ordained.
