Former President Takes Swipe At Branded Bible

During a rally at the University of Pittsburgh, former President Barack Obama sharply criticized Donald Trump for promoting a personalized “God Bless the USA” Bible. Obama expressed disbelief that Trump’s name was placed alongside biblical figures like Matthew and Luke, and questioned why anyone would believe Trump could bring about positive change. Obama argued that Trump is primarily focused on himself and has been complaining about his problems for years since announcing his candidacy.

Obama likened Trump’s behavior to authoritarian figures, mentioning his all-caps tweets and conspiracy theories. He also criticized Trump for constantly trying to sell products like gold sneakers, expensive watches, and now a personalized Bible, with Trump’s name prominently featured next to the Bible’s holy text.

At a separate rally in Pennsylvania, Trump attacked the political establishment as corrupt and promised economic revitalization, particularly in manufacturing and fracking. Trump also condemned issues like open borders and transgender participation in sports. He assured supporters that his policies would lead to job creation and prosperity, contrasting his vision with the Democratic platform.

Amid Trump’s promotion of the Bible, trade records revealed that nearly 120,000 copies of the “God Bless the USA” Bible were shipped from a Chinese company to the U.S., despite Trump’s frequent anti-China rhetoric. The retail price of the Bibles starts at $59.99, potentially bringing in millions in revenue. Trump had previously collaborated with country singer Lee Greenwood for the Bible, which also includes key American documents.

Trump emphasized the importance of religion in a video statement, arguing that Christianity is missing from American society and that its absence is leading to the country’s decline. He urged Americans to own a Bible and stressed that restoring religious values is crucial to making the country strong again.
