Epic Bible Story ‘Joshua’ Set To Shake The Stage In 2026
Sight & Sound Theatres has revealed that its next original stage production, titled Joshua, will debut in March 2026 at its Lancaster, Pennsylvania, location. Inspired by the Old Testament narrative, the show will follow the biblical leader Joshua as he guides the Israelites into the Promised Land. Unveiled before a live audience, this new theatrical experience has been in the works for nearly three years and promises a high-tech, immersive journey through some of Scripture’s most dramatic events.
Katie Miller, director of brand development at Sight & Sound, highlighted the production’s inclusion of several iconic biblical moments, such as the giving of the Ten Commandments, manna from heaven, and the crossing of the Jordan River. With massive set pieces, a cast of nearly 60, and advanced visual effects including a large high-definition LED backdrop, the production aims to fully immerse audiences in the biblical world, culminating in the dramatic fall of Jericho.
Producer Ryan Miller shared that the creative team discovered a deep spiritual message during the development of the show. While Joshua will showcase elaborate visuals and action sequences, the underlying message centers on themes of redemption and trust in God. Characters like Moses, Rahab, and Joshua himself are portrayed as examples of courageous faith, and Miller hopes viewers will see parts of their own spiritual journey reflected in the story.
The storyline spans from the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt to their eventual arrival in the Promised Land, portraying their trials and triumphs through a family-friendly lens. Sight & Sound describes the production as a “miraculous adventure” grounded in biblical truth and intended to inspire and uplift audiences of all ages.
