The nominees for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards have been revealed, and Christian and gospel music artists have made a notable impact. Among the nominees are well-known names such as Bethel Music, Brandon Lake, CeCe Winans, and rising star Forest Frank. Bethel Music, Jenn Johnson, and CeCe Winans were nominated for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” with their live version of “Holy Forever,” while Elevation Worship, Brandon Lake, Chris Brown, and Chandler Moore are also nominated for their song “Praise.”
In the “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” category, several albums have received nominations, including Heart of a Human by DOE, When Wind Meets Fire by Elevation Worship, and Child of God by Forest Frank. CeCe Winans also earned a nomination for her album More Than This in the “Best Gospel Album” category, alongside other notable works like Choirmaster II (Live) by Ricky Dillard and Father’s Day by Kirk Franklin.
The “Best Gospel Performance/Song” category features nominations for Yolanda Adams for “Church Doors,” Melvin Crispell III for “Yesterday,” and Ricky Dillard for “Hold On,” among others. DOE’s song “Holy Hands” and “One Hallelujah” by Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Erica Campbell, and Israel Houghton are also nominated. Additionally, the “Best Roots Gospel Album” category highlights traditional gospel music, with nominations including The Gospel Sessions, Vol 2 by Authentic Unlimited and Church by Cory Henry.
These Grammy nominations follow a successful run at the GMA Dove Awards, where Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans took home multiple awards, and “Holy Forever” was named Song of the Year. Forest Frank also won “New Artist of the Year,” with his debut album Child of God topping the Billboard Christian Albums Chart for 14 weeks. Frank expressed his gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the fulfillment he finds in creating worship music.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles, with the ceremony broadcast live on CBS and available for streaming on Paramount+.
