Connecticut Pastor’s Double Life Unveiled
A Connecticut pastor, Herbert Irving Miller, aged 63, has been apprehended on charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine. Allegedly, he utilized the rectory of Woodbury United Methodist Church to facilitate his illicit endeavors.
The arrest occurred last Friday, as disclosed by the Connecticut State Police. Authorities revealed that Miller was initially stopped for operating his vehicle with a suspended registration due to inadequate insurance. Upon further investigation, law enforcement discovered crystal methamphetamine in Miller’s possession, both in solid rock form and liquefied within a hypodermic needle prepared for injection.
Miller now faces a slew of charges, including possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance coverage, possession with intent to distribute, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following his apprehension, Miller was taken to Troop L in Litchfield for processing and subsequently released on a $10,000 non-surety bond. He is slated to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on February 23rd.
The investigation leading to Miller’s arrest alleges that he conducted drug transactions from the rectory adjacent to the church, as reported by the Republican American.
Miller assumed the role of pastor at Woodbury UMC on July 1 of the previous year, having previously served at First United Methodist Church of Shelton, Connecticut. In response to the unfolding events, Woodbury UMC has expunged all references to Miller from its website, including the announcement of his appointment last year and any mentions on the leadership page.
