It’s backed by Trump.

A newly released Inauguration Day edition of the “God Bless the USA” Bible, which has garnered both praise and controversy, is now available for $69.99 plus shipping ahead of the Jan. 20 swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump. This special edition is inspired by Lee Greenwood’s iconic patriotic song and features a commemorative engraving for Trump’s second inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.

Lee Greenwood announced the launch in a video posted on Jan. 6, stating that “2025 is set to be an incredible year” with Trump returning to office. The video claims Trump has played a pivotal role in “bringing faith back to the forefront of America” and highlights a renewed surge in Christianity, emphasizing that “now more than ever, every home should have a Bible.” It also features Trump briefly endorsing the Bible, expressing his desire to “make Americans pray again.” According to the promotional video, this special edition will only be available until Jan. 19.

The Bible, presented in a large print format, uses the King James Version and includes key U.S. founding documents such as the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Last March, Trump previously endorsed this version ahead of Easter, saying in a Truth Social post that “religion and Christianity are what’s missing most in America.” He emphasized that restoring faith is essential to making the country “strong again.”

Despite its popularity among some, the Bible has raised concerns among Christian leaders. Richard Land, former president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, voiced reservations about binding religious scripture with historical American texts. He warned that doing so could either inappropriately elevate the authority of the founding documents or diminish the sacredness of the Bible.

In 2021, reports surfaced that Zondervan and HarperCollins had considered publishing the “God Bless the USA” Bible but ultimately opted out. A spokesperson later clarified that the project was not suitable for either publisher. The Bible’s blend of faith and patriotism continues to spark debate regarding its religious and political implications.
