The 31st edition of the Movieguide Faith & Values Awards Gala recently celebrated outstanding contributions in the realms of cinema and television that champion family and faith-based values. Held at the esteemed Avalon Theatre in Hollywood and hosted by Trevor Donovan and Danica McKellar, the event was a grand affair, later televised on Great American Family for a wider audience to enjoy. Notable recipients of accolades included the “Super Mario Bros Movie,” recognized as the Best Family Movie, and “A Paris Christmas Waltz,” which clinched the title of Best Family TV show. Furthermore, “Jesus Revolution” was hailed as the Best Movie for Mature Audiences, while an episode of “Chicago P.D.” titled “New Life” secured the top spot in the TV category within the same demographic.
Beyond mere entertainment, the gala also spotlighted productions that championed themes of freedom and faith. “Sound of Freedom,” featuring Jim Caviezel, was bestowed with the Faith & Freedom Award for Movies, while Prime Video’s “A Million Miles Away” earned similar acclaim in the television category. Additionally, the Grace Prize, which honors performances reflecting divine grace, recognized Dennis Quaid for his role in “On a Wing and a Prayer,” and Lori Loughlin for her portrayal in “A Christmas Blessing.”
