NBC’s decision was both controversial and disrespectful.
Donovan McNabb, a six-time NFL Pro Bowl quarterback, has voiced his disapproval of NBC’s decision to edit out Houston Texans’ quarterback C.J. Stroud’s references to Jesus Christ in an interview following his team’s playoff win. Stroud, who made history as the youngest quarterback to secure a playoff victory in the NFL on January 13, began his post-game interview on NBC by attributing “all glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
However, when the interview clip was shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), viewers noticed that NBC had omitted Stroud’s mention of Jesus. McNabb, a Christian with a longstanding tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles, expressed his disdain for the network’s actions on his OutKick podcast, “The Five Spot.”
Describing NBC’s decision as “very lame” and “disrespectful,” McNabb highlighted that players should have the freedom to express themselves authentically. He emphasized the importance of allowing athletes to share their beliefs and individuality with fans, fostering a connection between players and the audience.
McNabb urged NBC to reassess its approach, emphasizing that the network’s role is to showcase what these athletes are truly about. He suggested that allowing players to freely express themselves enhances the connection between the sports community and the individuals on the field.
C.J. Stroud, a devout Christian, has consistently been open about his faith, even expressing gratitude to God in a post-game press conference after the playoff victory. Despite the Texans being eliminated from the NFL playoffs, Stroud remains steadfast in his commitment to both his football career and his faith, acknowledging the blessings and hard work that have defined his journey.
As the debate over the editing of religious references in sports media continues, McNabb encourages NBC to reflect on its decision and correct its course, emphasizing the need for a more inclusive and respectful approach toward athletes expressing their beliefs on such platforms.
Good grief! Have these people not heard that we have free speech in this country??? This is so wrong! And it is very disturbing!
Thank you for speaking up Donovan. The people who censor are some of what’s wrong and why the our country is crashing.
America believes in freedom of religion and are paying to watch the players, who need to remember who is paying their salaries, and respect each other. It is a game and entertainment.
What we are expecting from the
National
Broadcasting Communist . Network

The war on Christianity continues. It’s been here for years. It’s just intensifying.
You may recall the Democrat Party removed God from its platform in the 2008 Democrat convention.
