They are celebrating sin using tax payer dollars.
Pastor Jack Graham of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, joined many others in criticizing the National Security Agency (NSA) for its tweet celebrating Pride Month. Graham expressed his disapproval by tweeting, “Spiritual wickedness in high places. Our government celebrates sin on taxpayer dollars.” This tweet came in response to the NSA’s message promoting a workplace environment where members of the LGBTQIA+ community can thrive authentically.
Other prominent figures, including Gen. Mike Flynn and author Eric Metaxas, also condemned the NSA’s Pride Month post. Flynn emphasized the importance of the American flag over any other flag, urging government agencies to prioritize their duties rather than succumb to political correctness.
Journalist Megan Basham highlighted the clash between the NSA’s support for the LGBTQ agenda and the religious beliefs held by many Americans. She stressed the significance of this issue, pointing out its opposition to fundamental religious principles.
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) faced similar backlash for its Pride Month tweet, particularly from veterans and their descendants who felt disillusioned by the government’s endorsement of values conflicting with their beliefs. The tweet aimed to honor LGBTQ+ service members and promote an atmosphere of dignity and respect for all personnel.
Criticism extended to other government agencies, including the FBI, which also tweeted its support for Pride Month. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson was among those who questioned the assertion that diversity, particularly in terms of sexual orientation, inherently strengthens an organization. He argued against the notion that group affiliation predicts competence, likening it to historical racist ideologies.
The sentiment against government agencies’ support for Pride Month reflects broader societal divisions and concerns over the prioritization of certain values over others. Documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act revealed instances of taxpayer money being used to promote LGBTQ events within the military, further fueling criticism and raising questions about the alignment of government actions with the values of its citizens.
