What was his reasoning for doing what he did?
At a North Carolina McDonald’s, a disturbing altercation involving Pastor Dwayne Waden from Elevated Life International Ministries and employee Theodore Garlington led to the pastor’s arrest. The incident stemmed from alleged disrespect directed at Waden’s wife, Latoya Gladney, who was undergoing training to become a manager at the fast-food chain.
Upon being contacted for assistance by his wife, Waden arrived at the restaurant and reportedly headed behind the service counter, approaching one of the kitchen staff. The situation quickly escalated, with Waden purportedly grabbing the employee by the neck and attempting to force his head toward the deep fryer. As tensions flared, Waden allegedly resorted to repeatedly striking the employee in the face until other employees intervened to pull him away.
The physical altercation resulted in the employee sustaining injuries, including a significant contusion to the forehead and right eye, as well as scratches on the neck. The severity of these injuries prompted his family to swiftly transport him to the hospital for medical attention.
Following this troubling incident, Waden, also known to work as a semi-truck driver based on his Facebook page, was taken into custody. Subsequently, he was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 22.
The entire altercation was captured by the restaurant’s surveillance cameras. Additionally, reports indicate that Waden’s wife is no longer employed at McDonald’s, emphasizing the franchise’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of both its employees and customers.
This unsettling event underscores the critical need for effective conflict resolution and the potential ramifications of resorting to physical altercations, especially within public settings.
