During Chick-fil-A’s annual conference held in Orlando, Florida, thousands of owner-operators and corporate staff joined forces with humanitarian organizations U.S. Hunger and Convoy of Hope on February 5th. Their mission: to pack a staggering 2 million meals in less than two hours.
This collaborative effort saw Chick-fil-A’s commitment to service in action, reflecting one of their core values. Ethan Forhetz, national spokesperson for Convoy of Hope, expressed admiration for Chick-fil-A’s dedication to serving those in need, highlighting the significance of partnerships in addressing hunger and poverty.
The impact of this initiative extends far and wide. Half of the meals packed will be distributed to support disaster survivors, while the other half will reach communities across the nation, both urban and rural, where food insecurity persists. Daniel Burns, senior director of corporate relations for Convoy of Hope, praised Chick-fil-A for proactively tackling food insecurity, recognizing the vital role businesses play in community well-being.
The issue of food insecurity is a pressing concern, particularly in lower-income areas where access to nutritious food is limited. The partnership between Chick-fil-A, U.S. Hunger, and Convoy of Hope underscores the collective effort needed to address this challenge and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Rick Whitted, president and CEO of U.S. Hunger, emphasized the enduring partnership with Chick-fil-A and the profound impact they’ve had in combating food insecurity. This collaboration reflects Chick-fil-A’s commitment to serving not only their customers but also the broader community.
Chick-fil-A’s dedication to service extends beyond this event, with over 3,000 locations across the United States, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Canada. In a gesture of love for Valentine’s Day, select Chick-fil-A restaurants are offering heart-shaped trays filled with customers’ favorite menu items until February 24th. From their renowned nuggets to delectable treats like chocolate fudge brownies and chocolate chunk cookies, Chick-fil-A continues to spread joy and nourishment in various ways, embodying the spirit of compassion and service.
Chic Fill A is to be praised, I have heard of the Restaurant but never been to one. I will look to see if there is one near me in Brooklyn and go there to buy a meal to support them.
There is a restaurant in Mansfield Ohio but I have not been to it yet.
