Motherhood transformed her faith.

Christian singer and author Ellie Holcomb has openly shared how motherhood has profoundly shaped her outlook on life and deepened her understanding of God. With three young children under her care, Holcomb continues to integrate her faith into her creative endeavors, having authored three children’s books, each complemented by an EP of original music. In a recent interview with Crosswalk Headlines, the 41-year-old reflected on how motherhood has enriched her spiritual journey.

Holcomb emphasized that becoming a mother has enabled her to perceive God’s attributes more vividly, particularly His grace. “We are fundamentally beloved children of the Most High,” she remarked. “Motherhood has reminded me that before anything else, I am God’s daughter, and He watches over me and my children with unwavering care. This realization brings immense freedom – we are all God’s children, navigating our way homeward. I am grateful for this liberty to be imperfect, just as children are.”

Married to musician Drew Holcomb, Ellie finds immense joy in witnessing the world anew through her children’s eyes. “Everything becomes fresh and vibrant again,” she noted. “It’s a revitalizing experience for me as an adult.”

Holcomb strives to emulate Christ’s love in her parenting, fostering an environment where her children feel accepted regardless of their flaws. “I want them to know they don’t have to be perfect,” she explained. “They can approach me as they are, which in turn gives me the courage to come as I am before God.”

Recently, Holcomb has expanded her artistic repertoire with projects geared toward adult audiences. These include “All of My Days,” an album based on the Psalms, and an enhanced edition of her bestselling devotional, “Fighting Words,” featuring additional reflections not included in the original release.

The inspiration for “All of My Days” stemmed from Holcomb’s weekly practice on Instagram, where she sang various Psalms set to music. “I wanted to create a moment, even if fleeting, where people could pause and breathe,” she shared. “In the midst of social media’s frenetic pace, I began singing simple melodies that carried God’s promises. Initially a personal endeavor, this practice resonated widely, prompting requests for a recorded album.”

Holcomb’s journey as an artist and mother continues to intertwine, reflecting her unwavering commitment to faith, family, and the transformative power of God’s word in everyday life.
