Pastor Credits Holy Spirit For Miraculous Escape

A pastor from the Kansas City area recounts how he believes divine intervention led him and his family away from potential danger during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade last Wednesday. Timmy Hensel, the pastor of River Church Family in Raytown, Missouri, shared his experience with CBN News, revealing that they attended the celebration outside Union Station to honor the Chiefs’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Hensel, who also serves as the Central Southeast Regional pastor for the Foursquare Church, described the atmosphere as one of excitement and community camaraderie.

However, moments before gunfire erupted, Hensel and his family felt an inexplicable urge to leave the event. He attributes this prompting to the Holy Spirit, describing a sense of inner conviction that it was time to depart. Despite initial reluctance due to the rare occasion, Hensel and his wife, Tisha, both sensed the need to heed the prompting and began to leave the area. Soon after their departure, they received texts from concerned friends, confirming their decision to leave was timely.

Reflecting on the experience, Hensel expressed gratitude for what he perceives as divine guidance, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and listening to God’s voice. He encourages others to cultivate a habit of listening to the Holy Spirit, asserting that God is continually communicating and guiding those who are attentive.

In the aftermath of the shooting incident, Hensel not only gives thanks for his family’s safety but also prays for the victims and the community grappling with the aftermath. The pastor acknowledges the city’s pain and frustration in the wake of such violence, urging empathy and compassion for those affected.

Meanwhile, authorities have identified two individuals, Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays, in connection with the shooting, which resulted in the tragic death of local radio host Lisa Lopez-Galvan. Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker provided details of the incident, indicating that it stemmed from a verbal altercation, leading to the involvement of firearms and resulting in injuries to both suspects.
