NFL Quarterback Credits God For Achievements
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes attributed his team’s success to divine guidance, expressing gratitude to God after securing a spot in his fourth Super Bowl in five years. Mahomes highlighted the obstacles faced by the team this year, stating that the challenges, accepted as a divine challenge, have ultimately strengthened them. The quarterback emphasized that despite the hurdles, the team is not finished, acknowledging the support from fellow teammates.
Chiefs’ Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt also acknowledged God in the post-game interview, giving glory and congratulating the Baltimore Ravens for their remarkable season. Hunt, recalling a moment with his mother and the Lamar Hunt Trophy, expressed pride in the coaching staff and the entire team. He concluded by acknowledging the significance of the victory and the team’s journey to the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl LVI will witness a rematch between the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, with young quarterback Brock Purdy leading the latter. After a thrilling comeback against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game, Purdy credited God for the opportunity and stressed the importance of teamwork. He expressed gratitude for the support from the faithful and commended the efforts of both the defense and the offense in securing the victory.
Both Mahomes and Purdy have been vocal about their faith in the past. Mahomes, a two-time NFL MVP, has consistently mentioned the role of his Christian faith in his life and career. He aims to glorify God in every aspect and sees his success as an opportunity given by Him. Similarly, Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, shared his reliance on Jesus’ teachings, particularly the call to deny oneself and follow Christ. The 49ers’ head coach, Kyle Shanahan, also acknowledged Purdy’s strong faith, describing it as the foundation that keeps him steady amid pressure.
As these quarterbacks gear up for the Super Bowl, their unwavering faith continues to be a significant aspect of their journey, impacting their perspective on success, challenges, and their roles in the game.
God has blessed both young men with talent & both show their faith. The best of the two will help their team win. I’m hoping it be Kansas City but it is who wants it more. Go Chiefs. Amen to God for the blessing he has given to both men.
There are Christian players on both teams for this year’s Super Bowl. As far as I’m concerned both teams are already winners. Hoping this game will not just be a football game but also a witness to those who are not yet believers-including members on both teams. God already knows the outcome of this match up. Give God the glory!!!
