The Tide Ministry, a Christian radio ministry based in Pennsylvania, has launched its third annual “Your Soles, Their Souls” shoe donation drive, with the ambitious goal of collecting 5,000 pairs of new or gently used shoes. The initiative, which runs until March 6, aims to provide assistance to those in need abroad and support the ministry’s outreach activities in India.

The donated shoes will play a crucial role in aiding micro-businesses in developing nations and funding Gospel outreach programs, particularly literacy classes in India. Don Shenk, the Director of The Tide Ministry, emphasized the positive impact of the initiative, highlighting how donors not only contribute to ministry work abroad but also positively influence the lives of less fortunate individuals by simply decluttering their closets.

Shenk noted the joy experienced by donors in engaging with The Tide ministry, as their donated shoes become inventory for entrepreneurial vendors in disadvantaged economies. Additionally, the funds generated from the shoe collection efforts enable illiterate villagers in remote locations to access literacy education, showcasing the multifaceted positive outcomes of the initiative.

Building on the success of previous shoe drives in 2022 and 2023, which resulted in the donation of thousands of pairs, The Tide Ministry is actively mobilizing individuals, congregations, and businesses to participate in this year’s drive. The goal is not only to meet but potentially exceed the target by expanding promotional efforts and increasing the number of collection sites.

The Tide Ministry has provided a list of drop-off locations in Pennsylvania and participating churches in the Commonwealth to facilitate the donation process.
