Cardinal Calls Out Biden’s Faith
Cardinal Robert Sarah, a prominent figure in the global Catholic Church, recently criticized President Joe Biden, labeling him a “cafeteria Catholic” during a lecture at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Sarah, known for his conservative stance within Catholic leadership, expressed concerns about Biden’s approach to Catholic teaching, echoing similar remarks made by Cardinal Wilton Gregory of the Archdiocese of Washington.
Sarah’s comments on “cafeteria Catholics” extended beyond Biden to include other Catholic public figures and institutions, suggesting that many selectively adhere to aspects of Catholic doctrine while disregarding others. He highlighted issues such as Catholic hospitals and universities that he claimed operate more in name than in adherence to Catholic principles.
Gregory had previously used the term “cafeteria Catholic” to describe Biden during an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” citing concerns over Biden’s public support for abortion, which contradicts Catholic teaching. Gregory emphasized that cafeteria Catholics tend to embrace parts of the faith they find appealing while sidestepping or opposing more challenging teachings.
Sarah’s lecture underscored broader concerns within the Church regarding the adaptation of Catholic doctrine to fit contemporary cultural norms. He urged bishops in the United States to assert clearer leadership in teaching and living out the faith, emphasizing the need for clarity amidst what he described as confusion within the Church.
Sarah also referenced bishops in Africa who opposed a Vatican document allowing for blessings of same-sex couples while reiterating the Church’s stance on marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman. This example illustrated his call for bishops to serve as a “sign of contradiction” against cultural trends that conflict with Catholic teachings.
Overall, Sarah’s remarks at The Catholic University of America reflect ongoing debates within the Catholic Church regarding fidelity to doctrine in the face of societal pressures and internal dissent. His call for clear, unwavering leadership from bishops underscores a commitment to upholding traditional Catholic teachings amidst contemporary challenges.
biden is as Catholic as hamas!
You got that right!
To start, I’m not Catholic but was married to my Catholic wife of 58 years until I lost her to cancer. I prefer attending Mass over going to a Protestant church, my reason being the congregation takes more part in the services. Having said those things, I very strongly feel Biden should have been excommunicated a very long time ago because of his actions that go against nearly everything the Catholic church stands for. Biden is a traitor to his party, his religion and his country. Should he have to pay for his wrongdoing? YOUR DAMN RIGHT HE SHOULD!
