Comedian Warns Of Impending Spiritual ‘Darkness’

Comedian Russell Brand spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, about the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, warning of the presence of spiritual “darkness” in the world today.

In an interview with conservative influencer Benny Johnson, Brand expressed his gratitude that people are considering the incident from a spiritual perspective. He mentioned that the event had been foreseen by some due to escalating tensions and conditions. Brand noted that there is a sense of heightened spiritual energy and darkness that goes beyond rational understanding, something he has become more aware of since converting to Christianity.

Brand, reflecting on his past experiences with drug use and New Age practices, shared that he has been contemplating a passage from Luke 10 where Jesus speaks of seeing Satan fall from Heaven. This passage has struck him recently as he considers the ability to cast out darkness, which he believes is more necessary now than ever.

Addressing the unanswered questions surrounding the assassination attempt, Brand acknowledged Johnson’s earlier point about it being a miracle that Trump turned his head at the right moment, preventing a fatal shot. U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that a task force would investigate the security failures related to the attempt on Trump’s life.

Brand’s comments come after his recent conversion to Christianity, which made headlines when he was baptized in the River Thames along with Bear Grylls and another friend. This followed a joint investigation by The Times, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches, which reported allegations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse against Brand, which he has denied.

Other figures, such as conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, have also suggested that divine intervention played a role in Trump’s survival. During a Heritage Foundation event, Carlson cited the assassination attempt as evidence of dark spiritual forces at work in the United States, emphasizing that the current turmoil transcends political divides. Similarly, Dr. Ben Carson, in his speech at the RNC, quoted Isaiah, asserting that God protected Trump from harm.
