Pastor Caught In Shocking Solicitation Sting

Terrence “Terren” Dames, a former senior pastor from Plano, Texas, has been charged with soliciting a prostitute. Dames, 51, was arrested in May during a focused operation by Plano police aimed at tackling sex trafficking. His arrest led to his immediate removal from North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship due to concerns about “moral failure.”

The arrest stemmed from Dames allegedly attempting to engage in a transaction with an undercover officer who was posing as a sex worker. According to the arrest affidavit, Dames had used a website known for soliciting sexual services to arrange a meeting at a motel, offering $150 for “full service,” a term generally understood to refer to sex. Dames left the motel when no one answered the door, and he was later caught during a traffic stop.

After his arrest, Dames initially claimed he was at the motel to meet a friend. During the police interaction, he experienced a medical emergency, with first responders noting his low vital signs. Despite this, he declined further hospital treatment. His cell phone was confiscated, and he now faces a felony charge.

Bianca Davis, CEO of New Friends New Life, a nonprofit supporting sex trafficking victims, highlighted the broader issue, noting that such activities often involve traffickers or pimps. She emphasized that the act of selling sex typically includes networks of exploitation, not just isolated incidents.

In response to the situation, North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship emphasized its commitment to its mission and core values. The church leadership remains focused on advancing its goals of disciple-making and community impact, prioritizing biblical teachings and moral conduct. The church continues to emphasize its standards of holiness and accountability, both internally and in the wider community.
