Disgraced Megachurch Pastor Caught In New Scandal
Gabriel Mills, the former guest experience pastor at Journey Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin, has faced legal troubles after pleading not guilty to charges of capturing intimate images without consent. Shortly after his preliminary hearing, he was arrested again when a new complainant came forward, claiming that Mills had sent himself nude photos of a female congregant using her husband’s phone. Investigators discovered evidence on Mills’ phone that supported the new allegations.
The initial complaint involved a female congregant, identified as CMB, and her husband, TAB, a Racine police officer. During a life group meeting at Mills’ home on September 22, CMB overheard her husband asking Mills for help with an audiobook app. After stepping away briefly, she returned to see Mills holding his phone in a way that obscured the screen. When she engaged him in conversation, he inadvertently revealed a sexually suggestive image of her, which she recognized as a private photo she had only shared with her husband.
Following the incident, CMB and TAB reported their concerns to local authorities. Evidence indicated that Mills had used AirDrop to transfer explicit images from TAB’s phone to his own. A spokesperson for Journey Church stated that church leaders are aware of the ongoing investigation and are cooperating with law enforcement.
Mills, who is a father of five and recently celebrated 20 years of marriage, had his bail set at $7,500 during his court appearance on October 2. A local businessman named Don Taylor paid the bail for Mills. As of now, Mills remains in custody on the new charge, and police are investigating whether there are additional victims related to the case.
Authorities have executed several search warrants and seized various electronic devices that may contain pertinent digital evidence. The investigations into Mills’ actions are still ongoing, as law enforcement continues to gather information and assess the full extent of his alleged misconduct.
