Global Day Of Prayer Brings Hope Amid National Turmoil

Organizers are anticipating global participation in the upcoming Global Day of Prayer for America this Sunday, with hopes that millions will join in prayer for the well-being of the United States during what has been described as a “season of distress.”

The virtual event, titled “A Call to Repent and Return to the Fear of the Lord,” will begin at 7 a.m. Eastern Time. Jason Hubbard, director of International Prayer Connect, the organization leading the initiative, emphasized the critical nature of the current moment in a YouTube video released last Saturday.

“We firmly believe that our nation, America, is going through a season of distress,” said Hubbard. “This is a pivotal time in our nation’s history, and we are asking people around the world to join us in a global day of prayer for America.”

Hubbard invited people to participate in the virtual event from various locations, whether it be a prayer room, church, or home, and stressed the need for widespread prayer. “We are praying for a Christ awakening, where the Holy Spirit uses God’s Word to stir His people and bring them back to Jesus in all His fullness,” he added.

The event will feature leaders from various countries, all joining in prayer for the United States. The central theme of the gathering is based on 2 Chronicles 7:14, which calls for humility, prayer, and repentance in order to receive God’s forgiveness and healing for the land.

“We want to come together in agreement, asking the Father to give His Son this nation as His inheritance, from coast to coast, from Washington state to Washington, D.C.,” said Hubbard. “We believe that even small acts of prayer can open significant doors, and as we hand this key of prayer to God, we anticipate Him opening doors to awakening and revival.”

On the Global Day of Prayer for America website, Hubbard emphasized the importance of humility in preparing for the event. He wrote, “God calls us to humble ourselves before Him,” and cited the prophet Daniel as an example of how one person’s prayer can move God’s heart and release His power.

“As we humble ourselves, call on His name, and pray according to His will, we can trust that God will respond powerfully to our prayers,” Hubbard wrote.

The global prayer event comes at a tense time for the United States, as the nation approaches the divisive November presidential election between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. Trump has recently survived two assassination attempts.

On Sunday, a gunman identified as Ryan Wesley Routh allegedly attempted to assassinate Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida. A Secret Service agent reportedly intervened, and Routh has since been charged with federal gun crimes.

Earlier, on July 13, Trump was slightly injured after being grazed by a bullet during a rally in Pennsylvania. Authorities are continuing to investigate both incidents.
