Televangelist Reveals Divine Strategy To Safeguard Wealth
After publicly distancing himself from the prosperity gospel nearly five years ago, stating that the “Holy Ghost is just fed up with it,” controversial televangelist Benny Hinn recently warned of impending global darkness and financial instability. In a livestream on YouTube titled “Shameless Begging,” Hinn urged viewers to financially support his ministry, asserting that those who faithfully give to God’s work will secure financial protection amidst the looming crises.
“We are facing unprecedented darkness and danger, worse than any in history,” Hinn proclaimed, emphasizing that only those who sow seeds into God’s work will experience financial security in the tumultuous times ahead. He argued that while money can be lost, seeds sown in faith will yield blessings that extend into the future, echoing the agricultural metaphor of seed planting.
Encouraging immediate donations to his ministry through various platforms, including his website and text donations, Hinn assured his audience that their contributions would result in repeated blessings from God.
The prosperity gospel, which teaches that financial and physical blessings can be obtained through faithful giving, has been widely criticized for distorting biblical teachings. Organizations like the Lausanne Movement have labeled such teachings as false and unethical, pointing out their departure from the core principles of Christianity.
Hinn’s public renouncement of the prosperity gospel in 2019, following years of criticism and scrutiny, marked a significant shift in his theological stance. He acknowledged the harm caused by linking financial contributions to spiritual blessings, expressing regret for his previous teachings.
His nephew, Costi Hinn, detailed these practices in his book, revealing how the family exploited millions through promises of prosperity in exchange for monetary gifts. Benny Hinn’s personal journey of theological reevaluation underscores the complexities and controversies surrounding the prosperity gospel within evangelical circles.
The New Testament tells the purpose of world and universe creation. They are all about people qualifying for the next life with Jesus Christ who sacrificed his life for us that wouldn’t qualify for it . It tells us that only through our faith in him will we deserve to enjoy his love for us. Once we have the faith he has shown us how to live for him so that others might choose him.
