Megachurch’s Generosity Reaches Over 1,400 Children
A megachurch in Georgia, Change Church, recently organized an event named “Change Mart” that provided free sneakers and school supplies to children from over 1,400 families. The event took place at their Gwinnett County campus and was part of the church’s initiative to support families and children in need. Teddy Matthews, Chief of Staff at Change Church, stated that their goal was to alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians as they prepare their children for the new school year.
This year’s Change Mart saw a significant increase in participation compared to the previous year, which assisted around 500 students. Matthews highlighted the church’s commitment to extending hope and assistance to as many people as possible, fostering a sense of community support and love.
Founded in 2005 by Pastor Dharius Daniels and co-pastored by his wife Shameka, Change Church has grown to include two additional campuses in New Jersey and an online global campus. Recently, the church announced plans to open a new campus in Dekalb County, Georgia, near Atlanta. This expansion is part of their ongoing efforts to reach more communities and provide various forms of support.
Pastor Dharius Daniels expressed his enthusiasm about the new Stone Mountain location, which is set to open in 2024. He mentioned that the new campus will offer numerous opportunities, including educational support, small business incubators, parental assistance, community outreach programs, youth sports, and other engaging activities. Daniels is excited about bringing these new resources and worship experiences to both current members and the local community.
Overall, Change Church’s initiatives, including Change Mart and the new campus, reflect their dedication to serving and uplifting communities, aiming to make a positive impact on families and children in need.
