Pastor’s Hidden Affairs Revealed In Stunning Revelation
Days after Cross Timbers Church in Argyle, Texas, announced that former Lead Pastor Josiah Anthony had resigned due to “inappropriate and hurtful” behavior towards current and former staff, it has emerged that his actions also involved sexual misconduct. The church’s elders are now bracing for the possibility of additional allegations.
The elders released a statement revealing that, following Anthony’s resignation, they uncovered further inappropriate communications of a sexual nature in his text messages and social media exchanges. They stressed that these interactions were non-consensual due to the inherent power imbalances and underscored that such behavior is unacceptable within their church community.
Originally, the resignation was explained by John Chalk, a senior elder, as a response to non-sexual misconduct linked to Anthony’s emotional and mental health challenges. However, the church has since offered a more detailed explanation, disclosing that they first received concerning reports about Anthony’s social media conduct in late June. These concerns prompted a resignation request on July 2, but the discovery of sexual misconduct has broadened the scope of the issue.
The elders acknowledged that Anthony had not been entirely forthcoming about his behavior, which included inappropriate communications with women. They are now preparing for the possibility of further revelations and are committed to taking appropriate actions in response.
In the meantime, Toby Slough, the church’s founding pastor, will assume the role of interim lead pastor as the church searches for a permanent successor. The elders remain dedicated to fostering a supportive and caring environment for all members of their congregation.
