Hundreds gathered to show support.

At Oasis of Praise Church in McCalla, Alabama, a large gathering took place to support Pastors Allan and Gay Kendrick following a devastating incident involving their grandson. Over 300 people attended the prayer service to offer their condolences and prayers after the Kendricks’ grandson allegedly killed his wife and four children.

Associate Pastor Patrick Cooper led the service. He emphasized the church’s role in offering love and support rather than seeking details about the tragedy. Cooper stressed the importance of praying for the Kendricks and their family, focusing on their well-being during this difficult time.

Brandon Allan Kendrick II, 32, the Kendricks’ grandson, is currently held at Bibb County Jail and faces five counts of capital murder. The tragic event came to light when authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting. The victims were Kelse Kendrick, 24, and four children: Kaleb Kendrick, 6; Kynli Kendrick, 2; Haley Daniels, 6; and Colton Daniels, nearly 9 years old, all found at the family residence.

Pastor Cooper spoke about Pastor Allan Kendrick’s faith and resilience, noting that his unwavering belief would help him endure this tragedy. Cooper described Pastor Kendrick as incredibly strong, remaining composed and faithful even in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

The service highlighted the community’s unity and support for the Kendricks, focusing on the power of prayer and faith to provide comfort during such a tragic time. The Kendricks’ loss and their grandson’s actions have deeply affected the congregation, yet the church remains steadfast in its mission to offer love and support.
