To commence the New Year, local congregations gathered on January 5-6 at Kootenai Valley Christian School for a joint worship and prayer assembly. Over 100 individuals, encompassing various age groups, represented a diverse array of at least 13 churches from the Libby, Troy, and Eureka communities.

The annual prayer gathering unfolded from 6 p.m. on Friday to 6 p.m. on Saturday, focusing on the theme “Sons & Daughters,” inspired by Joel 2:28, which reads, “…I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

Pastor Zane Officer, serving as the Chairman of the Libby Evangelical Association of Pastors (LEAP), kicked off the event with a compelling message emphasizing unity in Christ. This set the stage for subsequent hours of prayer, where the community focused on seeking God’s sovereign protection, guidance, and blessings for their children and grandchildren.

Participants directed their prayers towards those grappling with grief from recent suicides and sought divine intervention to nurture healthy, productive relationships and meaningful connections between parents and children. Petitions were also made for insights into effective strategies fostering strong connections, communication, and cooperation across generations, all contributing to a unified faith.

A prominent feature of the gathering was a prayer wall banner adorned with hundreds of names, serving as a focal point for collective supplication. Throughout the event, youth and young adults took the lead in worship, prayer, and shared reflections on their spiritual journeys, creating a spiritually enriching and intergenerational experience.
